Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Recruitment 2020/2021 and how to apply

Established in 1988, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria mandated to oversee and manage the safety of Nigerian roads and it users – transporters and commuters.

The body is present in all Nigerian roads, especially federal roads and highways across the country. The current head of the FRSC is Corps Marshal Boboye O Oyeyemi, MFR, mni.

Statutory functions

The functions are the statutory functions of the FRSC:

  1. Ensuring that the highway is safe for motorists and other users including hawkers.
  2. FRSC also designs and recommends devices that can help to reduce the rate of accidents on Nigerian highways and where they should be used on the roads. They have the responsibility of recommending such devices to the government at various levels for proper assessment and approval.
  3. Checking the road worthiness of vehicles plying Nigerian roads and highways.
  4. Making sure that the members of the public and motorist are well educated on the essence of discipline while using the highways.

This article is here to educate the general public on the basic requirement of the FRSC recruitment and how to apply for FRSC job. Note that all registrations will be done on FRSC official website.

The four main office open for employment is listed below

  1. RMA Cadre (Road Marshal Assistants)
  2. MI Cadre (Marshal Inspectors) Officer
  3. Cadre Officer
  4. (MBBS) Cadre

RMA Cadre FRSC requirements

  1. Each applicant must have at least 5 credits including English and mathematics in NECO, SSCE, NABTEB or WAEC to apply for RMA II.
  2. Applicants should have at least 3 credits including English in either (WAEC/NABTEB/SSCE/NECO) to apply for RMA III.
  3. Applicants should have at least 4 credits in NABTEB/SSCE/NECO/WAEC. It is required of persons interested in the professional offers to have their professional certificates (or trade test) handy. This includes people apply for the post of electrician, tailor, computer operator, mechanic, plumber, driver, cyclist, artisan, instrumentalist or tradesman.
  4. The possession of driver’s license is necessary for applicants for such jobs like motorcycle rider and driver applicants.

MI Cadre FRSC job requirements

  1. Applicants must have completes their NYSC and obtained their NYSC discharge certificates.
  2. Applicants for MI I should have Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates and at least 5-year Statement of Result.
  3. Nigerian Certificate of Education, at least 5-year Statement of Result along with Registered Nurse or Midwife certificate will be required of applicants applying for MI II.
  4. National Diploma (both ND and documents that proves applicant’s Community Health Extension Work) along with 5-year Statement of Result will be required of applicants opting for MI III.

Officer Cadre requirements

  1. Applicant should provide his/her NYSC certificate.
  2. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree from any Nigerian university that is recognized by the Nigeria University Commission (NUC). Application for FRSC jobs cuts across several disciplines like medicine, engineering, computers, management, and humanities, etc.

Officer (MBBS) Cadre requirements

  1. Applicants must be a graduate from any recognized university/college where he/she studied medicine and earned his/her Bachelor’s Degree.
  2. Candidates who wish to apply for MBBS position should have NYSC Discharge Certificate.

General Application Criteria

All applicants should be younger than 27 or 30 years of age and should be citizens of Nigeria. However, the application is free can only be processed via the FRSC recruitment website or portal at http://frsc.gov.ng.

How To Apply For FRSC Recruitment

  1. Visit FRSC recruitment portal at https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng,
  2. Click on the cadre job vacancy you want to apply for and fill the form accordingly.
  3. You will receive an email from FRSC containing your login details,
  4. Return to https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng and login with the details you got from your email address,
  5. Once you are logged in, change your password to something you can remember,
  6. After you have changed your password, log out and sign in again,
  7. Once you are signed in, click on “Applications” and proceed to “My Applications”,
  8. Click on “Complete Application”,
  9. Complete your application by filling in the application form with required details like your next of kin, your referees, your academic history, your personal bio, etc. also, upload your passport and any other document required of you. Please, note that all information in asterisk (*) are required,
  10. Once you are done, submit your application,
  11. Print out your forms
  12. Log out and go.
